Lost But Not Forgotten

Sometimes I want to be
that little girl again
full of life and innocence
daydreaming by the window
Mrs. G’s class… room 124
fifth grade
waiting for the bell
so I can walk with Jenny
back to her house
and steal a little time away
from the world
before it takes me
where I’m supposed to be
instead of where I want to be

Jenny was my best friend
for lack of a better word at the time
at ten… eleven… lesbian lover?
I didn’t know much about it then
or what to call it
but I knew how it felt
to lie on her bed
and kiss her lips
and touch her body
in the right places
and look into her eyes

We did it so many times
I forget now
but each time special
summertime whenever
after school
on sleepovers
teaching her things
she didn’t know that I knew
or how I knew them
like licking her little bud
until her pleasure soared

we knew so much
without knowing about it
and maybe it was better that way
just being, not thinking
feeling without questioning
it was right and good
even though we had to hide
maybe because we had to hide
because you see
the world was what was wrong
and didn’t deserve us
Jennifer and Cassandra
two little girls in love.

Wow that sounds so much like my time with my first love it is almost scary but exciting to read and remember. Thank you for recounting them for me.

  2. Chef71 says:

    Nice young love.

  3. MrStrut says:

What a sweet view of her young love. I am sure she has many great memories as I think all girls should experience even if they don’t become lesbians.

  4. Myka says:

Brings back sweet memories … what we did apparently was naughty … how could it be, it was so lovely … and we did it anyway hee hee …

  5. Euphorsyne,Thalia & Aglia says:

Such a beautiful poem!..and a wonderful memory to cherish.
young girls (and all females, for that matter) sharing love together is what’s truly right about this world we live in
Keep up the beautiful work, Cassandra Blue!

    So lovely…

We’ve never before posted a poem here at Juicy Secrets… but I stumbled on this one while preparing Cassandra Blue’s story “First Light of Day,” and immediately wanted it for the site.

(A tip of the hat to Naughty Mommy for finding an appropriate photo to go with it — nice, don’tcha think?)

A very nice photo indeed. I hunted for a photo myself and could not find anything I felt appropriate for the poem. It is strange just how few photos apply depending on what keywords you enter. Anyway, thank you to everyone!

      • Jacqueline Jillinghoff says:

Poetry has a wonderful way of boiling an experience down to its essence. And the photo is lovely. I think of Cassandra as the one on the left.

    • PoppaBear says:

As someone who used to have to look through thousands (no exaggeration) in order to find forty to fifty, I know how good it feels to find the one that says, “It’s gotta be me!”

  9. sue says:

Love this. I wonder how many of us have those sweet memories.
