There’s been an unfortunate development to mark the new year at Juicy Secrets: our ratings meter has been shut down, and all the ratings numbers have vanished with it.
This sorry saga began when Amanda noticed the site was taking a long, long time to function. Delving into the wheels and gears, it was quickly established that the ratings widget was our culprit. The plugin’s site wasn’t responding, which meant that our site was contacting theirs until it timed out, hence the delay.
Upon visiting the plugin’s home page, this message was found: “This plugin has been closed as of December 25, 2025 and is not available for download. This closure is permanent.” And since all the ratings were stored on their servers, their demise means we’re unable to access that data.
What can I say? In order to function, Juicy Secrets has to rely on outside sources to present our efforts to you, our public. Inevitably, problems will occasionally arise with the services we get from some of those outsiders. Those of you who have been with us from the start will recall how we’ve been booted off two different platforms for our content (one of whom literally changed their own rules to justify it). In this case, we can’t even say why it happened. I suppose the plugin wasn’t making enough cold, hard cash for whoever owned it.
Anyhow, the damage is done. My regrets to all you authors, past and present, who put a great value on your ratings. We are seeking out a replacement plugin, and hope to have it installed and working within the next couple of weeks. You’ll be kept up to date.
UPDATE: Most of you have no doubt noticed that we have a shiny new plugin to replace the old. A strong advantage of this new one is that we have a personal copy of the data entered, so the ratings won’t get lost again. There’s still a breakdown of the votes themselves, too… just hover over the three vertical lines to the right of the line of hearts.
There’s another new development you may have noticed. We added a meter at the top of every post to show how many visits each one has had. In the process, we made a startling discovery that’s good in a way; bad in another. First the good: turns out that we’re getting a lot more visitors than we thought. I was stunned to see that the latest installment of “Ripples,” a 45-chapter-and-counting saga that’s been in progress for over seven years — hardly the place to take a casual look, right? — has been checked out over eight hundred times in the last couple of weeks. And 185 visitors went back to visit Chapter One! Can’t claim to have seen that coming!
The bad news: we knew only a bare minority of those visitors were leaving ratings or (especially) comments, but did not know how few there really were. Crunching the numbers, it seems about 2.5% of people leave ratings, and not even half a percent actually comment. Sad. Granted, not every view necessarily comes from a different person, so those percentages could be slightly higher, but still. Which makes those who do share their thoughts and opinions part of something truly special, hint hint.
Speaking of which, our having lost all the old rating numbers makes it important for you, the hoi polloi of Juicy Secrets, to leave ratings for older stories that you have feelings or opinions about, whether pro or con. Please endeavor to make a point of clicking on one of those five heart emojis whenever you read anything here. Let’s get those numbers cooking again!

Not the best present at all, especially after the decade plus of incredible curation you have provided.
Mindful of how little I comment, I suppose the interim solution should be to encourage verbal bot mots to accompany our individual delights on finding new tales as the unfold or revisiting delicious archived memories..
Since I nag the Juicy Secrets community every year about the importance of leaving comments, I elected to refrain from doing so in this post. So I thank you, Rabby, for saying it for me.

Dam you have some bad luck, but it seems like you already have a work around, Keep up the great work in representing a place for authors to submit too. I know us readers just love to read what the wonderful writers produce.
It’s a kick in the teeth for writers, I’m sure, that the ratings and past ratings are gone. I hope the new widget works out. I worried a bit when I saw the site being very slow or not even loading at all that oh no did juicy secrets go down?! Is it gone?!!😟😢 I am very glad you’re still up and running! Shit will happen but I’m happy that shit did not. And Thx for all your work Jetboy and all writers.
An inconvenience and annoyance yes. But, let’s take note that there is a building stream of quality stores from new and talented authors. Thanks to JB and the team that keeps this website alive.

The irony is not lost on me that that for the first time ever I want to give a one star rating and I can’t. Although it does strike me that this is one way to foil that pesky person who always gives the one star vote. (Sorry…to early for jokes?)
I kept count of ALL my ratings though, so when the new counter is up and running if you could please just restore my eleventy zillion 11 out of ten star ratings. Thanks.
Seriously though, this sucks, but it is what it is, nothing you could have done. The site is still here, that’s the main thing.
They actually gave six months notice for users to migrate their data, but hindsight’s a wonderful thing, isn’t it? I never would have looked for that information if not for this post. Often did we use the widget, but never did we consider it much beyond that.
DuckDuckGo had started blocking the widget a while back, which may have cut into their profits. Maybe that had something to do with it shutting down for good? I know little about such things, admittedly.

I noticed that about Duck Duck Go and wondered what the deal was. When I voted, I did it through Opera.
But when you stop and think about it, what really has been lost? I paid more attention to the comments than the votes, and that troll you gave everything a one is no longer an issue.
JetBoy, thank you for the explanation. You and the other administrators do such a great job keeping JS up and running with such wonderful content. We will survive a widget gone bad. Yes, it’s nice to be able to see the numbers. But it’s the comments that really tell the story of how good the stories are. We’ll get past this. Thanks for all you do.

Please please please copy this site so that we will never lose access to these stories also if anyone would write a six being plundered by a pair of straps neon pink and neon blue from her mother and aunt in both holes I’d die of pure joy.
Double penetration of a six-year-old girl? Surely that would do physical harm to the child. Quite a few grown women can’t take vaginal and anal simultaneously. I’d almost certainly refuse a story featuring anything like that.
The neon pink and blue strap-ons are an intriguing touch, though. Would it ruin the story if they were neon orange and green instead?
I wasn’t wanting harm I truly want the girl to enjoy it if so any age you deem fine and no the color doesn’t matter I just like those 2. I’ve never done that I didn’t think of it hurting.
I’m sure you want the girl in this theoretical story to enjoy the experience, Kate… but from my admittedly male perspective, six is simply too young for that kind of thing, and any attempt at making it happen would surely result in internal damage, even land the girl in a hospital bed.
But then again, my Y chromosome renders me less than an authority on the matter. Any of you ladies care to weigh in on the subject?
What we rub off to in our own beds or wherever, in our own minds is fair game,enjoy. But when you bring it out into the open,even in a fantasy,in a fairly safe place like this,even we find it too revolting to think about. We’ve seen a porn actress in her late twenties do a DP and even she said it’s “Her first time trying it,it’s very difficult” We think that says something right there.
A lot of confessions are made here, but we think maybe some of them should remain unsaid and perhaps those thoughts on doing a DP on a child should remain your secret Kate. In our humble opinion.
Under the subject or story title there are those three lines like for the voting thing and is says ‘story views’ then a number. Are those numbers accurate? What do they mean?

Probably not hugely accurate. I assume every time someone clicks on that page, it counts as a view, but that includes people reading the comments only, or an author checking in to see if any new votes or comments have cropped up. It does, however, indicate that the traffic on Juicy Secrets is much heavier than I thought. A few hundred readers was my previous guestimate. Now if we could get more folks to vote and comment…

The ‘views’ figure is astonishing. I just had a quick check on a few of my old stories and the number of views already achieved is amazing.
As BlueJean states, there’s a lot more readers than I could have ever imagined.
One thing I was always dubious about was everyone’s insistence that the “awful” votes were the work of a single person with some kind of grudge. Now that we know the readership is likely in the thousands, it seems pretty normal to get the odd random low vote, strange that we aren’t getting more really.
Go onto Metacritic and look at the user reviews and you’ll see that many reviews boil down to, “I like it, so I give it a 10. I dislike it, so I give it a 0.”
I’ve just finished a book that spoke to my soul, but I’ve seen other people say of the same book that it was “overrated,” or that it was “the worst book I’ve ever read.” I’m like, “Are we really reading the same book here?”
Bizarre how a story can resonate so deeply with one reader and leave another completely unmoved. What strange animals we are.

My own writing has kind of stalled; too much has been going on to be able to concentrate properly. Besides, with JS having only the one editor at the moment, there’s little point in me submitting anything new when Jetboy has so many of my unpublished stories on file.
It’s true that we’ve not seen a new kinkys_sis story for a while, and the blame rests squarely on my doorstep. I’m on the home stretch of her new one, but the editing process has taken far longer than it ought. As usual, I’ve simply got too many plates spinning at the same time. (Cue “Sabre Dance.”) Thankfully, Ms. Kinkys has been the soul of understanding. Her story (accompanied by my apology) ought to premier in a couple of weeks, if the gods favor us.
